Give today to break the far-right Freedom Caucus majority
In 2024, a highly organized faction of far-right legislators assumed control of the Wyoming House of Representatives. Despite receiving support from just 9% of registered voters statewide, members of the Freedom Caucus claimed a “mandate from the people” and moved aggressively to impose an extreme agenda—regardless of the cost to Wyoming communities.
The Wyoming Donor Alliance is investing in a coalition strategy to break the Freedom Caucus’ majority in the Wyoming House of Representatives in 2026. The path forward is achievable and well-defined. Victory requires flipping at least seven House seats currently held by Freedom Caucus members, while defending vulnerable districts from well-funded insurgent challenges.
The margins are narrow: in 2024, more than 20 House races were decided by 250 votes or less, and half of those by fewer than 100 votes. In a state like Wyoming, strategic investments can decisively change outcomes. Your contribution this year fuels:
Our partners, like the Wyoming AFL-CIO, have recruited strong candidates in 6 races and growing. We are confident efforts in our targeted counties and districts will provide cover for the strong candidates running against Freedom Caucus incumbents.
Relatively unknown in 2024, Freedom Caucus candidates now have a record of quotes, votes, and poor decisions working against them. Our coalitions have doubled down on their accountability messaging and will launch an unprecedented Independent Expenditure campaign.
In addition to the voters our coalition is introduced to through our education, accountability, and independent expenditure efforts, our partners are deploying strategies for turning out the right kind of voters to break the Freedom Caucus Majority.
The Wyoming Civic Engagement Network and the Wyoming Voter Network meet weekly with nearly 20 organizations to expand the reach of this plan messaging. They support organizations of all capacities to workshop narrative talking points and public messaging, build plans for engaging their members, and have data sharing agreements to help these organizations get out the vote (GOTV) amongst their own memberships.
